No one knows where Sophie is from - she was found one morning in the middle of the English Channel in a cello case. Until the age of twelve, the girl lives with her guardian Charles. Together they read Shakespeare's works and create music. But the law is harsh: Sophie wants to be taken to an orphanage, and the guardian is imprisoned if he gets in the way. The girl runs away in search of her mother, because she clearly remembers her and believes that the dearest person is still alive. And where, if not from above, is it better to see the whole city and its inhabitants ?! So pretty soon the girl becomes a conqueror of the whole world under the starry sky. Together with experienced roofers, Sophie learns to be strong - for the sake of her mother and the rescue of Charles.
